Andrea Squillante, Master’s Level Counseling Intern
Andrea is a counseling intern currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with over a decade of experience working in vocational rehabilitation and disability counseling since 2015. She has experience supporting older children, adolescents, and adults, including college student populations, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and DACA and undocumented students.
Her therapeutic approach is integrative, person-centered, and humanistic, with influences from Gestalt therapy that encourage emotional awareness, authenticity, and self-understanding. She believes therapy should feel collaborative, genuine, and emotionally safe—a space where clients can explore their experiences openly, without judgment, while feeling supported and gently challenged toward growth.
Andrea values the importance of intersectionality and recognizes how identity, culture, systemic experiences, ability, sexuality, gender, and lived experiences can shape mental health and the therapeutic process. She often incorporates creative and experiential approaches into her work, including writing, art, music, mindfulness, and reflective exercises tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
Her clinical interests include emotional regulation, identity development, self-autonomy, burnout and stress management, and navigating life transitions. As an LGBTQIA+ Safe Zone trained counselor, Andrea is committed to creating an affirming and supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered as their authentic selves.
